Called “Transhuman Dis-associative Neurosis” clinically. Techshock most commonly correlates with excessive WetWare or performance-enhancing drug use.

It is said to be a state of disaffection and alienation from society and humanity.

Excessive use of WetWare, which raises your Chromeage, will cause a quicker "neural drain" to take place. At a specific point of Neural Drain, or ND, you will begin to experience Techshock.

To avoid TechShock, it is recommended that WetWare users stay up to date and on a schedule of ModMed doses, and also counteract raising Chromeage levels, by use of Neural Dampening ChipWare.
