Description
The invasion and attempted reclamation of past British colonies, proved far too costly for the United States of America to fund the defense against, whilst combating climate change. One of the results of such an occurrence, was Formation Day - or the creation of The Pacific States of Cascadia, in 2060.
Military Matters
But, two years prior to this, it was found that the defense of the United States of America would be much more successful if handled via a method of consolidation. Consolidation of the States was nicknamed, by many "The Balkanization of The United States". The Union dissolved, borders were drawn, and the former states coalesced into the 13 nations known to the people of 2087.
Map of North America, 2058
In 2058, two years prior to the Triumvirate's economic takeover of Cascadia, California, and the state of Nevada, this is what the USA looked like, on any given map. However, in 2060, California, and the post-Nevada area of Deseret, were completely absorbed into Cascadia - which broke off, to form a new country.
NOTE: California is currently absorbed into Cascadia.
The Consolidated Countries
None of the countries in the current North America have any sort of Union, or official agreement between them. They function as individual countries.
