Description
The Year of The Blaze refers to a catastrophic event that occurred in the year 2035 in Baja California.
This is prior to the formation of The Pacific States of Cascadia (PSC), in the year 2060.
Events
Quarter One
//From BlackDenim: I'm not sure if we're going to keep this. I generally want The Year of The Blaze and the actual events behind what caused such a major source of problems for the USA which eventually leads to Formation Day to primarily incorporate climate change.
Quarter One was the first major event and involved the detonation of a quarter of all known incorporated United States bombs across the entirety of Baja California and the rest of the mid-west. This took place during a year of intense anarchic revolution and eventually led to a nuclear event which spiraled the state and surrounding country into a moment of near entire dissolution.
During the subsequent bartering of the country to numerous Corporations, mother nature gave wicked payback to mainland US.
The Ignorance Inferno
Climate change was all but ignored despite waves of activism due to the ignorance of the United States of America's political system and the ongoing buyout at the time by corporate entities. To add on to this there was an inaction and disagreement within government to declare climate change a national emergency, which caused wildfire season to tailspin out of control in the southwestern corner of the USA.
Having already been susceptible to yearly wildfires - in 2035, as the overall temperature of the planet rose - eventually wildfire season never stopped. It continued burning, quickly spinning out of control and was dubbed thus, The Ignorance Inferno.
Effects
Millions were affected, and either displaced, killed,and billions of dollars in property damage ensued.
